Advocacy

Farming and ranching touches nearly every aspect of human activity and is always the subject of legislative and regulatory interest. Because of that, the Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau works to protect and promote agricultural interests throughout Santa Barbara County. We work to surface, analyze, and solve problems facing our agricultural community. SBCFB represents farmers and ranchers in venues including the state Capitol, the halls of Congress, and the offices of state and federal regulatory agencies.

County Crop Data

Each year, the Santa Barbara County Agricultural Commissioner releases a Crop Report that provides a wealth of information about what local farmers grow, how much it’s worth and how many acres are devoting to growing it.

Publications

The Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau publishes or distributes a number of periodical publications specifically geared to agriculture. These include the organization’s weekly e-newsletter, the quarterly Central Coast Farm & Ranch magazine published by Farm Bureau of Ventura County, the weekly Ag Alert newspaper published by California Farm Bureau Federation, and California Bountiful—a bimonthly magazine also published by CAFB.
