
The Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau’s G .A.A.T.E. Scholarship Program was organized to give financial aid to students with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry. The scholarships are awarded annually based upon academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills, and a commitment to study agriculture. There can be up to two scholarships awarded each year, one for $1000 and the other for $500.
The requirements for the scholarship are:
Written applications must be completed and postmarked by April 1st of each year. A copy of your High School and College transcripts must also be sent to the Farm Bureau office. The address is P. O. Box 1846, Buellton, CA 93427.
Applicants must be majoring in an agricultural related major at a Junior Cnllege or a 4-year College or University. Questions as to qualifying majors will be determined by the Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Scholarships can be awarded to the same individual more than once.
Scholarships will be awarded in June of each year.
Eligible students must:
Be a resident of Santa Barbara County
Plan to enroll in college during the upcoming academic year
Submit a completed scholarship application
Submit all high school transcripts
Submit all college transcripts
